Head Coach - Throws and Sprints

Richard Scoones has a level 3 coaching qualification in Discus and Shot Putt, level 2 in Hammer, Javelin and Sprints. Richard is also our Club Chairman and is often team manager at league competitions. Richard was one of the founding members of the club back in 1986. Richard has competed in many championship events, and has recently held the title of Kent Champion in the Hammer Throw. He is also senior men's club record holder for the Discus.

Club Coach - Hurdles and Combined Events

Andrew Scoones is qualified as an Event Group Specialist in Endurance and Sprints + Hurdles. Andrew also has experience in the Jumps and Throws events and coaches the Clubs Multi Eventers. Competing since the u11 age group Andrew has had experience in almost every event. He has raced and made finals at the Kent Championships over 400m and 800m on various occasions. Andrew has seen his share of high level competion racing several members of Team GB.

Club Coach - U11's and Jumps

Paul Churcher is our U11's and Jumps Coach and is the Team Manager for Sportshall and Kent Young Athletes League. He is also the Club Secretary, Schools Liaison officer and the Swale District Coordinator for Kent Schools Athletics Association.

Club Coach - Distance

Jon Cork is our Distance Coach and is the Team Manager for the Kent Cross Country League. Jon not only enjoys competing in distance races but very enthusiastically attempts as many events as he can for our team in the Southern Athletics League.

Assistant Coach

Carl Beech is qualified to assist any of the club coaches. Carl is now a strong member of the Southern League team. Since joining in 2010, Carl has been part of a league winning Mens team, won 100m Gold at the Kent Vets Championships and run distances up to 5 miles including regular Parkrun appearances. Carl has been guiding our young athletes coaching and has experience coaching all events including hurdles, sprints, throws, distance and long jump.

**Volunteers Wanted**

Swale Combined AC are always looking for additional volunteers. This can be informal assistance to help run the club, help with the annual presentation, set up equipment at training, time runners at training, marshall at events.

Current Course Openings:

We are currently looking for another Coach that will take jont charge of our under 11s and first year under 13s group.

We are currently looking for additional Track Officials; Timekeeper or Track Judge roles

Swale Combied AC will pay course fees for volunteers and support your learning in any of Timekeeper Level 1, Track Judge Level 1, Assistant Coach courses.
